It is often said that it is more important to start learning something by "emptying the water jug" in yoga books.
Yin yoga is a relatively a new science. A science that discusses Anatomy A LOT, as the main foundation of yoga practice. Of course, for some people, this is a part that they don't master before. It is natural that they will be confused at first. However, what is interesting is they begin to understand slowly. One by one the material discussed and discussed, is understood well.
Yin yoga can be said to fall into the "Functional Yoga" genre. In functional yoga, we direct students to assume that all pose options are correct, as long as you get the desired target area.
This means there is no longer an "advanced pose" category there. All poses are said good if they suit the yoga practitioner's anatomy. Here's what the pose says works well. Functional yoga prioritizes the function of yoga itself, rather than how the poses look. New participants need a break to transform. The key word is patience. Let's empty the jug and refill it with new water.
Happy learning.
